Susan Unger firmly believes that "We shouldn't be stressed by our stuff." She launched ClutterSOS in 2005 after realizing that as a professional organizer, she could spend her days doing what she's always loved the most — sharing her passion for organizing and making true connections with people.
"The most rewarding part of my job is watching the stress leave my clients as they take back control of their space. I receive great satisfaction when we've given everything its proper place," she says. Her clients describe her as "the Energizer Bunny," who works tirelessly to transform her clients' homes into spaces of order and tranquility. She works in a respectful, positive, non-judgmental manner that puts her clients immediately at ease.
Susan is a Certified Professional Organizer®. She maintains an active membership in the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), of which she is a member of the elite Golden Circle of veteran organizers. She is also a proud member of NAPO-WDC and the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD), for which she holds the title "Chronic Disorganization Specialist." She also holds a BSBA degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Business Administration.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, and her daughter, Samantha. She enjoys cooking and entertaining. She is also a world traveler, recently traveling to Thailand and throughout Europe.
Jody is a former photographer and designer ready to help you organize your photos and collections. In fact, she's a Certified Personal Photo Organizer with the Association of Personal Photo Organizers (APPO)! Jody prides herself on organizing her family and her busy schedule, which includes volunteer work with her sorority Pi Beta Phi, and fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She lives in Arlington, Virginia, and her hobbies are social media and running around after her kids.
Daughter of Clutter SOS owner Susan Unger, Samantha assists on a number of team projects when an extra set of hands is needed. Organizing closets gives her a thrill, but she'll happily help out with any residential organizing project. She lives in Ashburn, Virginia, and enjoys swimming and traveling.
ClutterSOS begins the process with a complimentary phone consultation to get to know one another. During this introductory time, we'll listen to your goals, discuss the organizing and decision-making process, and answer your questions about working with us. We know that reaching out to a professional organizer is a new experience for you, so rest assured you'll be treated with courtesy and kindness.
If we seem to be a good fit, we'll schedule a convenient time to work together. Our organizing sessions are generally three hours in length. On our first visit, we'll spend the first hour or so doing an in-depth assessment of your home. We will ask for a tour, so we can see what's working and what's not, and we'll talk about your vision and goals for the space. Once we view your space and understand your needs, we'll create a plan to help you reach your goals quickly and efficiently.
With that vision in mind, we want you to see results in that very first session, so we'll dig right in! The remainder of the time will be spent working together to organize and beautify a space of your choosing. As we wrap up, we'll set a date for our next session if you choose to continue the organizing process. (And we hope you will. The results will be life-changing!)
ClutterSOS offers professional organizing services to homeowners in the Northern Virginia area, including (but not limited to) the cities of Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Ashburn, Fairfax, Falls Church, Great Falls, Herndon, McLean, Oakton, Reston, Springfield, Sterling and Vienna.
Call us today at (703) 864-1055 to get started with a free 15-minute phone consultation. We'd love to hear about your organizing challenges and answer all of your questions about our organizing process.
